Stephen, a mildly schizophrenic 32 year-old Portage resident, was left homeless and without proper care essentials when his father passed away.

A friend of the family contacted the Rickman house, and Stephen was provided with permanent housing and medicine. He is now safe, living in a congenial setting surrounded by supportive residents, and is able to work a fulfilling part-time job at a Kalamazoo area grocery store.
