2010 Walk for the Homeless sets goal of $75,000
On March 27, 2010 the HRI Eleanor Street Family Shelter will host the 21st Annual Walk for the Homeless.  As in years past, we are hopeful a hardy bunch of 300+ dedicated souls will again particpate in the 21st Annual Walk for the Homeless, walking 3.5 miles and
contributing to the $75,000 goal.
 
All proceeds benefit services offered at HRI serving homeless families with children including support services to secure, maintain and sustain housing long term.  Located at 522 Eleanor in downtown Kalamazoo, the 24-bed Eleanor Street Family Shelter allows families to remain together as a family unit during their stay to work through their housing crisis. It offers a comfortable and caring temporary home, where families can regain their footing and seek solutions to their housing crisis.
 
The Walk is the largest single fundraiser for the HRI during the year and is vitally important to keep services available to homeless families in the Kalamazoo community.

Details
  • All proceeds go to the services offered at HRI for homeless families.
  • Walkers collect money in exchange for their pledge to walk the five-mile, non-competitive route.  
  • Every walker who raises at least $30 receives a t-shirt.
  • The Walk begins and ends at the HRI Family Shelter, 522 Eleanor Street.  
  • Registration begins at 8 am. Walk begins at 9 am!
  • Refreshments and entertainment help make it a fun, family oriented day.
  • Crowd friendly dogs are welcome!
