Join Us for Emergency Rental Assistance Outreach Sessions

@ 420 E. Alcott Street Office- Second Floor

We will be meeting with Kalamazoo City applicants from 1-4:30pm on a first come first serve basis on the following dates:

Friday, June 2nd from 1pm-5pm

Wednesday, June 7th from 1pm-5pm

Friday, June 9th from 1pm-5pm

These sessions will allow possible applicants a face-to-face meeting to determine eligibility quickly with a Housing Specialist. To do this, we are asking that all applicants bring the following documents to the event:

  1. Proof you are behind in your rent. You do not need a 7-day notice or court summons.
  2. State ID (or other government-issued ID) in the tenant’s name so that we may make a copy
  3. Most current copy of lease agreement in tenant’s name
  4. Proof of earned and unearned income for household members over the age of 18 years old.
  • Household income/benefits (unemployment, SSI, etc.) for one month, OR one of the following:
  • Copy of submitted 2022 IRS form 1040 (first two pages)
  • Copy of all W-2 forms
  • 90 consecutive days of pay stubs going back from current date (this is only if they do not have a 1040 or W-2)

Note: If someone has zero income, HRI will verify it.

HRI’s 420 E. Alcott Street office is open for reception services and operations Monday-Friday from 8:30 am-5:00 pm (closed 12-1 pm for lunch). Housing Resources, Inc announces “A Kzoo Pod Community – A Place of Dignity” pilot project

Feb 2023 Update: HRI has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the City of Kalamazoo to further look at the 333 E. Alcott location to determine feasibility. This provides HRI a six-month window of time for due diligence. A final decision has not been made regarding this site. A lease or purchase of this site has not happened.
